As probably many of you, I start my days reading the emails and my favorite blog’s feeds on Google Reader.
Few days ago I was thinking how nice it would be if someone would do a kind of ‘blogs review‘ for me…yes, sometimes I’m lazy ![]()
So I thought to do it… for you!
I selected four of the nicest posts I read this week about Mid-Century and design and here they are.
- Let’s start with Apartmenttherapy, my ‘design Bible’.
They update the website so often during the day that in a week you can accumulate hundreds of posts if you are not fast enough.
I don’t always have the time to go through all of them every day but when I do I’m sure to find some inspiring content.
This week there were many interesting posts, but the in-depth examination of the Cherner Chair and the different settings for it, drew my attention!
- Yesterday, the Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano started; and of course I can not avoid to mention it.
It is the biggest worldwide yearly event in the furnishing industry where all the trends about design and furnishing are showed to the buyers and to the customers all around the city of Milan.
It is very interesting to see how many manufacturers are coming up with updated versions of classic Mid-Century design pieces…really amazing.
Many magazines and websites have a special issue or article or posts’ series about it including Dwell that is having a ‘live’ from Milan during all the week; the Salone will end the 17th.
- The very good blog Chairsmith, published some vintage pics about the H57 Lounge Chair and the Outdoor Lounge Chair by Herbert Hirche.
I love the chairs and the settings are stunning and inspiring.
- Last but not least, Contemporist published a post about the FAVN sofa by Jaime Hayon for Fritz Hansen inspired by the Mid-Century designer Arne Jacobsen.
The sofa has been launched yesterday during the opening of the Salone del Mobile and thanks god I have already one because this FAVN boy is really cool!
Let me know in the comments if you liked this ‘blogs review’ experiment and if you want me to go on with it…it was actually quite fun
Do you know how fun is also sharing comments, contents and thoughts on social media like Facebook and Twitter? Yes? Then you should also follow me and Mid Century Home there!
Click on the links now and it’s done.
Don’t forget, also, that the best and exclusive content about Mid-Century modern design is only in my free mailing list.

Thanks for reading and Ciao.

Wow, little us get mentioned alongside the big hitters – thank you!
ahah! the pleasure is all mine.
Your blog is one of my daily reading…always inspiring.
Ciao!
I do like this feature, there is such a dizzying array of blogs, much of them are noise to me. It sure helps to have someone distill the mash into a tasty liquor.
Thank you very much for your nice words Evan.
Which of the four posts I published here did you like more?
Ciao.
