Also this week Josie sent us a Mid-Century inspired illustration.
“This week I want to share two paintings I did for an upcoming Alice in Wonderland themed gallery show I will be part of.
I decided to paint these in the style of Mary Blair who is one of my favorite mid century artists of all time, and who
also happened to work on the visual development for Disney’s Alice in Wonderland animation back in 1951.
I admire Mary Blair for her unique sense of color and her use of simple shapes in her paintings.”
Josie Portillo is a young graduated at the Art Center College of Design in 2009, with a BFA in Illustration.
She loves soccer, mid century design and UFO’s!
She lives and work in Los Angeles, California and every Sunday agreed to share with us her amazing mid century inspired illustrations.
