Hi everybody! How was your weekend?
Around here the weather is not really exciting, it actually sucks, so I decided to have a relaxed ‘autumnal’ weekend reading the tons of old blog posts that pack my RSS feed reader
I think it was a good idea because I found a lot of interesting articles including a post about a family furniture company: The Hansen Family
When I was doing my researches to write Alvar Aalto vs Ikea, I found out the the tripod stool was not an original idea but that it actually was in use by since ages!
What Alvar Aalto did, was to re-interpretate the idea of a tripod stool with a specific goal: make an useful and mass producible piece of furniture. That’s how the 60 stool was born.
Another month is gone…April was fast, isn’t it?
So, it’s time for the monthly ‘The Best Of…”
As always, I checked which posts you liked the most during the month. So who is new on Mid Century Home, will start to read from what the others liked and who’s not, can refresh his/her memory once again
- Poul Henningsen: The PH Lamps
- Alvar Aalto: The Mid-Century Villa Kokkonen
- Charles and Ray Eames: The Wire Chair
Let me know in the comments which is your favorite within these posts or if you liked other posts that I didn’t include in the list.
Thanks for reading and ciao!
